Witch’s Brew Matcha Latte with Chocolate Spiderwebs

Witch’s Brew Matcha Latte with Chocolate Spiderwebs

Brew something a little magical this Halloween. Our Witch’s Brew Matcha Latte pairs the vivid green color of Matcha (Ceremonial) with vanilla, maple syrup, and a creamy chocolate spiderweb topping. It’s festive without overpowering the tea, and simple enough to make just before your guests arrive.

Makes: 2 drinks
Total time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Matcha (Ceremonial)
  • ¼ cup hot water, about 175°F, not boiling
  • 1½ cups oat milk or whole milk
  • 2–3 teaspoons maple syrup, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice, for serving
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon thick chocolate syrup, for decorating

How to Make a Witch’s Brew Matcha Latte

  1. Whisk the matcha. Sift the matcha into a bowl. Add the hot water and whisk until smooth and lightly frothy.
  2. Sweeten the brew. Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla.
  3. Prepare the topping. Lightly whip the cream with the powdered sugar until thick but still pourable.
  4. Build your drinks. Divide ice and milk between two wide glasses, leaving room at the top. Pour half the matcha mixture into each glass.
  5. Add the cream. Gently spoon the whipped cream over each drink to create a smooth surface.
  6. Draw the spiderweb. Use a small piping bag or squeeze bottle to draw a thin chocolate spiral on the cream. Pull a toothpick from the center outward in six lines to create a spiderweb, wiping the toothpick between strokes.
  7. Serve immediately. Admire your spooky creation, then stir before drinking.

Tips for a Party-Ready Finish

Use wide glasses to give yourself more room for the spiderweb design. Thick chocolate syrup is easier to control than a thin sauce, and softly whipped cream helps the design stay on the surface.

Serve on a dark tray with miniature pumpkins, keeping decorations outside the glasses. Adjust the maple syrup to taste so the matcha remains the star.
